Welcome to Scenic British Columbia, A Vancouver Island Photography Blog
Please bare with me as this is still a relatively new project, and I have a ton of ideas for this site. As time goes by I will be adding more advanced features. I hope you enjoy the photos of my travels, and day to day life on Vancouver Island. Cheers, Daryl Quenet, Vancouver Island Photographer.
Halibut Fishing on Constance Bank
February 10, 2007 (0 Comments)
Although some would consider February 10th to early in the Halibut season to start fishing Victoria Waters, we think not. Today we went out to Constance bank to see if we could catch our first Halibut of the year. We woke at 6:30 to be on the water by 8am.
Unlike Salmon Fishing you don't need to be there right at sun up, in fact your best fishing times can be found by consulting your tide charts. Halibut are most likely to bite right at the tide changes.
It ended up being a great day, and I took several hundred photos. And we ended up with two Halibuts a 60 lb and 63lb, and for a day we were tops of the Island Outfitters Halibut Leaders Board.
